A thriving, growing Conservative congregation.
Membership at Kehillath Israel is growing while many other area Conservative synagogues are shrinking. To meet this challenge the 430 member unit synagogue is undertaking a $15 million remodeling and addition to its 1922 building. The synagogue provides religious, educational, cultural programming across all age groups. Among its offerings are a preschool, religious school, and adult education programs.
Kehillath Israel has thrice-daily minyan and hosts three different services on Shabbat mornings; a fourth is slated to be added in the autumn of 2016. KI is also home to several Jewish agencies, has a growing preschool. It is a Conservative Jewish synagogue, in the broadest and most traditional sense of the term “Conservative Judaism”.
