The oldest Jewish congregation in Indianapolis
Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation was founded in 1856, only seven years after the first settlers arrived in the community. As the congregation grew it moved from its first location on Market Street to the Tenth Street Temple in 1899 and its current home in 1958.
