The largest Reform congregation in Nevada.

In 1974 a group of about 30 families who wanted to establish a Reform synagogue in Las Vegas, founded Congregation Ner Tamid. At first they met in homes, churches and at the University of Las Vegas. In the early eighties land was acquired on Emerson Avenue and a social hall, classrooms and sanctuary were built.

The congregation thrived and grew, outgrowing its building. In 2001 a major capital campaign was begun in order to finance the purchase of land and construction of a synagogue and campus appropriate for the growing synagogues needs. Jon Sparer, Architect, who shaped much of Las Vegas’ skyline, was engaged to design the new facility. In February of 2007 Congregation Ner Tamid dedicated its new home, the current campus and synagogue in the Las Vegas suburb of Henderson.

With more than 650 family unit members, Congregation Ner Tamid is the largest Reform congregation in Nevada.
