The oldest Sephardic synagogue continuously in use.

The ghetto of Dubrovnik was established on October 25th of 1546 and the synagogue was established shortly thereafter in a 13th-century Gothic house. It has been in continuous operation since then. The Old Synagogue of Dubrovnik is the oldest Sephardic synagogue still in use as of this writing (2009) and the second oldest in Europe.

Sometime between 1652 and 1670 the Synagogue interior was remodeled in the Baroque style, probably as result of the earthquake of 1667.
