Sephardic congregation and community center serving the community in the Sephardic tradition.

Em Habanim is an orthodox Sephardi Congregation in Valley Village, California, founded in 1974 by a group of friends from Morocco who wanted to preserve their Sephardi traditions, liturgy and heritage. From a small group of dedicated founders, the synagogue grew to be a vibrant and family-friendly congregation, providing many programs and services to the community for people of all ages. A magnificent facility that includes a community Center, the building was designed with much taste and attention to detail. It combines modern architecture with Moorish accents and traditional craftsmanship. The sanctuary is an inspiring setting featuring an outstanding hand-carved Torah Ark, an intricately embroidered Parochet, an impressive Bimah, colorful stained glass windows and plush individual arm chairs. The exquisite artistry throughout the building make this synagogue a unique place to visit or to attend services held three times a day.
