A neo-Classic domed synagogue with an interior that is striking and inspiring in its purity and simplicity.

Originally founded in 1874 as Mountain City Hebrew Reformed Congregation, the congregation assumed the name Temple Beth Israel in 1922. The current neo-Classic domed building was dedicated June 9th, 1927. The synagogue serves about 75 families of the greater Altoona area.
